Given the global scope of telecommunications, if we were to estimate the number of individuals directly involved in cell tower work (including construction, maintenance, and repair), it would likely be in the tens of thousands or possibly into the low hundreds of thousands. Even at the upper end of these estimates, the percentage of the global population involved in this work would be minuscule, far less than 0.01%.
